1. Himachal Pradesh:

Himachal Pradesh ranks on the top in relation to Hindu population. Most number of people speak in fluent Hindi here. 95.17% of the total population of HP consists of Hindus. Thus, it is in the list of top states in India based on Hindu population.

2. Odisha:

Odisha is on the second position with more Hindu residents compared to other parts of the country. The total Hindu population occupies 93.63% of Odisha. Thus, it means the state has more of hindus than people of other religion.

3. Chhattisgarh:

Chhattisgarh enjoys the third position with 93.25% of Hindu population. Most people speak in Hindi and understand Hindi language fluently. 4. Madhya Pradesh:

Madhya Pradesh also sees more of Hindus as permanent residents of the state. Compared to the above 3 states, MP enjoys forth position in the list of top states in India based on Hindu population as the state counts to 90.89% of the state’s total population.

Daman and Diu’s major land is also occupied by Hindus. The state’s total population is 243,247 out of which 90.50% population consist of Hindus.

6. Gujarat:

Gujarat stands sixth in the list of top states in India based on Hindu population. The state’s total population recently has been recorded to 60,439,692 out of which 88.57% is covered with Hindus. The remaining percentage consists of mixed religion.

7. Rajasthan:

Rajasthan contributes about 88.49% of its population following Hinduism. Major part of the land is covered by Hindus and then the other religions take over. As per its percentage of Hindus, the state enjoys being on the seventh position for its Hindu population in the country.

8. Andhra Pradesh:

A great portion of the land practice Hinduism in AP. Only a very small part of the state follows Islam or Christianity. The rest of the state speak and understand fluent Hindi. Hindi is also the state’s official language. 88.46% of Hindus cover AP.

9. Tamil Nadu:

Tamil Nadu is on the ninth position for Hinduism, however; it doesn’t mean there are less Hindus in the state compared to the other states of the country. About 87.58% of the total population of Tamil Nadu follow Hindu religion.

10. Haryana:

Haryana is known to have majority of Hindus in India. The state’s total population recorded was 25,351,462 out of which 87.46% are Hindus. Thus, it is on the tenth position that is known as one of the highest Hindu populated state in India.
