His Success Story

He was born in a poor family to Ram Nivas Yadav and Gulab Devi in Mahendragrah district, Haryana on 25 December, 1965. After studying at school till class 8 th , he joined a yogic monastery (gurukul) in Khanpur village and here he started learning the skills of Yoga, along with the language of Sanskrit.

Post completion of his studies in the Gurukul, he adopted monastic living and acquired the name “Ramdev”. After changing his name, he visited Jind district and joined the Kalva Gurukul, where he started teaching Yoga to the villagers in Haryana. Later he went to ‘Haridwar’ and stayed there.

In this period of his staying, he laid the foundation of the “Yoga Empire Divya Yog Mandir Trust” with the sole aim to popularise Yoga and Ayurveda in the general public. Later on, he also established the “Divya Yog Mandir Trust” in the year 1995. He also founded the Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust in Haridwar, which does various researches to cure ailments through therapeutic practices of yoga and Ayurveda.

This trust also helps its visitors by providing them with various free services. He has been conducting Yoga Science camps all through the country and abroad and even spent a month in London, teaching Pranayama and Yoga.

Apart from yoga, he has a great knowledge of Hindu scriptures. His educational shows are being telecasted on regular basis on various religious channels like Astha, Sanskaar etc. Due to his uncountable contribution to the society, he has been honored with doctorate degrees from four universities across India. He is not only a yoga guru but an entrepreneur as well but only with the sole aim of serving the society and mankind.
