Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or simply RSS is a Hindu organization, and a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization. The organization is widely regarded as the parent organization of Bharatiya Janata Party. It was founded on September 27, 1925 and claimed by the world’s largest non-profit organization to serve India. It was founded by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.
Involvement with riots
Many international level human rights and agencies have claimed involvement of RSS in communal riots. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Bajrang Dal (BD), and other RSS affiliated organization were involved, based on Human Rights Watch report, and other investigations. However, RSS claimed that they have made appeals during communal riots to put an end the violence.
