Wankaner is my hometown and I haven’t shared my experience till date related to Ranjit Vilas Palace, one of the most beautiful royal palaces in the state of Gujarat. If you don’t know where is Wankaner located, then don’t worry. Just look out at this article to get more information.
I often visit Ranjit Vilas Palace due to several reasons, one of the key reasons to meet Maharaja! Yes, I often meet High Royal Highness Dr. Digvijay Sinh Zala to talk with him. He is very keen person and have travelled around the world till date. So, it is always fun to meet him to get a few drop of knowledge and experience from him.
Normal Tourists Are Not Allowed
Ranjit Vilas Palace aka Wankaner Royal Palace is completely closed for normal tourists. Some part of the Royal Palace was damaged in 2001 Gujarat Earthquake. After that, normal tourists are not allowed. However, I have seen foreign tourists in the palace as tourists, may be allowed in rare case.
The Palace Has Beautiful Atmosphere
The Ranjit Vilas Palace is located on the hill overlooking the city of Wankaner, a small town located just 50 km from Rajkot. You would often find peacocks in the area of the palace. I have captured some of the beautiful pictures of peacocks found in the palace.
Palace is not well maintained
Ranjit Vilas Palace is one of the most beautiful royal palace in the state of Gujarat. However, it is not well maintained. If it is well maintained, then it will become the point of interest in the region.
Maharaja is a very kind person
Maharaja i.e. The King of Wankaner HH Dr. Digvijay Sinh Zala is a very kind person by nature. He has also served as the Union Minister for Environment in the Government of India.
If you are keen to know about royal families of India, then he is the right person to get proper information and knowledge.
